Indications of Ligazid 5 mg

Ligazid 5 mg is prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to enhance glycaemic control. As monotherapy: in patients who cannot be properly managed by diet and exercise alone and for whom metformin is contraindicated owing to renal impairment or inappropriate due to intolerance. The incretin hormones GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-4) and GIP are degraded by the enzyme DPP-4, which is inhibited by it (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide). By boosting the release of insulin from pancreatic beta () cells in a glucose-dependent manner and inhibiting the release of glucagon from pancreatic alpha () cells into the blood, this raises the concentrations of active incretin hormones.

You should take Ligazid 5 mg once a day. When given along with metformin, you should keep it constant. Interaction of Ligazid 5 mg
